Encore une fois...je me remets en question, vous l'avez sûrement remarqué, du moins les peu, mais fidèles visiteurs de ce site...pas beaucoup d'articles...ils sont sur mon site JMR-ART et mes deux page sur WORDPRESS

One more time, I am questionning myself, the few but faithful who do come here, you did notice there wasn't much publications over the last week, they are on my site JMR-ART and my two sites on WORDPRESS.

Un peu plus...a bit more...

Avec le beau temps qui revient, il est temps aussi que ce modèle portant ses lunettes soleil revienne nous rendre visite, elle a toujours ses cuissardes, j’avais perdu un peu de contraste dans ses vêtements, je vais tenter de remédier à la situation, malgré que ce tableau est bien avancé, je doute que je le termine dans les prochaines séances…je vais faire durer le plaisir quelque peu….:)

With the nice weather that finally comes around here, maybe it is time now for this model wearing her sunglasses, and thigh boots, not so warm as she’s feeling taking them off….anyhow it would be difficult. I though this painting was lacking a bit of contrast and subtleties in her clothing, I shall try to fix that, even if this painting is quite advanced, I don’t think I will finish it this time or in the next few sessions, I will have to decide to which extent I want to push it…difficult to explain, I guess it is to take it to the undefinable point where I feel it is done….without overdoing it of course.

Ceux qui suivent mon blog depuis un certain temps, le savent déjà, parfois je m’attarde, ou m’acharne…sur un même tableau, au moins maintenant j’ai des articles montrant mes photos, pour créer un peu de diversité, et vous épargnez une longue suite d’article sur le même tableau, parfois montrant beaucoup de changements, d’autres fois presque rien, donc voici la dernière version de ce tableau de ce modèle, ses lunettes soleil et cuissardes….qui doit bien les aimer, les portant même dans ce qui me semble être une chaude journée d’été.

Those of you who followed me for a while already know that, sometimes I can stay on the same works for quite an extent of time, showing more or less changes, at least now I do show some posts featuring my photographs, so it create a bit more diversity, and you don’t have to read two, three or four posts on the same painting, not knowing if it did change and where it did..not always so evident, I admit…so here’s the latest version of this model wearing sunglasses and thigh high boots…she must love them, wearing them even in the midst of a hot summer, at least it does seems to me.

Carte postale....Postcard

Parmi les quelques photos que j’ai numérisé jusqu’à date, j’en ai bien peu que je qualifierais de ‘carte postale’, le style de photo que l’on montre à la famille et aux amis au retour d’un voyage…donc en voici une, le pont enjambant la fleuve Neckar à Heidelberg, la vue a été prise du vieux château.

In the few pics I did scan so far, I must admit I don’t have many ‘postcard’ type photos…like the ones you would show to your family and friends coming back from a trip abroad…:), so here’s one taken from the hill where the Old Castle is, a view of the Old bridge crossing the Neckar River in Heidelberg.

Il a été partiellement détruit en 1945, d’après l’information trouvé sur le net, il y a eu 9 ponts au cours des âges, le premier datant du 13 ième siècle, d’ailleurs certaines parties de la fondation font partie de la construction actuelle du pont, probablement mon ancienne formation d’ingénieur qui fait surface ce matin…ou d’historien du dimanche…enfin la photo et  un lien si vous voulez en savoir plus.

The bridge was partially destroyed in 1945, from what I found on the net, there’s been 9 bridges at the present site, the first one beign built in the 13 th century, apparently some part of the original foundation are still part of the actual bridge, rebuild in 1947, I guess this morning it is my old engineer formation resurfacing or maybe the part of me interest in history as a hobby, but i though providing some info bring a bit of background on this picture, If you want to learn more, I put a link ine english, there was more detailed links in french…so the pic…

Ma cabane au Canada...Untranslable...

Qui n’a pas rêvé de sa petite ‘cabane’, la nature et la poubelle tout prèes….:) que ce soit au Canada ou ailleurs…le Canada, grande étendue d’aires sauvages….dans ce cas-ci j’ai eu l’aide d’un ami de longue date, et non ce n’est pas la maison qu’il habitait, plutôt la remise….faut pas croire tout ce que l’on voit sur le web….mais je me suis dit que parfois avec peu, on peut faire une photo passable…donc la photo et le ‘peu’, un domaine….:)

Who did not dream of having his dream house, ‘petite cabane’ a quiet place, nature at the outdoor, and garbage can, for this one I had the collaboration of a long time friend, and no it is not is house…rather a backyard shed, so here’s the proof, don’t believe everything you do see on the web….:) but I thought that with not much of a scene I was able to make a nice pic, not great but decent…:), so the pic and the ‘scenic house’….

Fausses impressions....Misconceptions

Non je ne parle pas ici de la qualité de la prise de vue de mes diapositives, le lieu est un amphithéâtre, qui me paraissait bien ancien, surtout qu’il me semble, si ma mémoire est bonne qu’on y faisait allusion à une époque lointaine, alors comme je ressortais ces photos de l’oubli, je décide de faire une petite recherche internet, donc oui c’est un lieu ancien, mais qui a servi à des meetings nazis dans les années trente et quarante, je me souviens avoir trouvé ce lieu bien apaisant, et d’une certaine beauté et sérinité, ces dernières informations viennent quelque peu assombrir mes premières impressions…mais j’y avais tout-de-même trouvé quelques occasions de prendre des clichés…les voici…Heidelberg, novembre 1986

Strange as sometimes you thought as a place as a beautiful quiet place, full of serenity, the information I read at that time, in November 1986, let me believe it was some ancient construction, so when I scan these slides today, I did a bit of research, I like presenting a bit of background on some of the pictures I took, I was quite surprised to found out that place is in fact an old relic from the past, but not so far…more like in the thirties and forties, a place where young Nazis would gather, it kind of took away the sweetness I did found about this place, I guess I am better telling myself that a dark place could also be a nice place at some other times…so here’s those pictures.

Du gâteau? A piece of cake?

Parfois il vaut mieux écrire un brouillon d’article…plutôt que d’essayer de faire en sorte qu’un chapeau de fourrure, style cosaque, n’ait pas l’air d’un gâteau posé sur la tête du modèle, et parfois, surtout après avoir consommé, c’était ma fête voilà quelques jours, et comme je suis patient…la plupart du temps, j’ai attendu avant de célébrer ma fête, enfin tout cela fait que je ne parviens pas à transformer son chapeau à mon modèle, enfin sa photo, en autre chose qui m’a l’air d’un gâteau posé sur la tête de ce jolie modèle…mais je l’aurai, pas ce soir par contre…

I don’t know, sometimes it is better I think to sit and write a draft for a post instead of struggling with a painting, especially if that on is going well so far, and you don’t want to get into trouble, in this case, it is her fur hat, that my model is wearing,of course I should say more exactly that this photo model’s is wearing, and now it does look more like a cake posed on her head, instead of a hat, and of top of that it was my birthday a few days ago, did not celebrate until yesterday, so not a good thing when you’re a bit drunk to try to fix things on a painting…that I’ve learned over the years…:), so I guess it would be for another time for me to transform this apparently cake hat into a fur hat that goes well with this charming model…

Non ce ne sera pas une habitude...No I won't make an habit of it....

Mais aujourd’hui il y aura la photo, correction, les deux photos du jour, un bâtiment munichois inconnu et un munichois, déambulant par là, enfin je présume qu’il est ou était munichois, c’était tout-de-même en novembre 1986…donc un instagram, enfin une photo d’époque ou presque….enfin deux photos….exactement.

But for today, there will be again today’s photo, actually two of them, an old building, and on the second one a Munichian, hum not sure, ok somebody from Munich, but maybe he is from somewhere else…and anyway it was in 1986, so an old time instagram…yeah I know in that time they call that a photo, a vintage photo from not so long ago, to me rediscovered memories…

Un manteau rouge... a red coat

La version à jour de ce tableau, mélange scène de rue, abstraction et mode, soit manteau rouge et bottes noires, faut bien que ma ‘signature’ ou marque de commerce y soit…..:) difficile à photographier cependant ce tableau, je crois que la photo précédente a été prise au matin, le peu de lumière du jour ou un peu trop de photoshop, ont altéré la lumière, donc la réalité en fait de lumière est quelque part entre les deux, la photo de la version finale sera plus soignée….mais on est pas encore rendu là…

The updated version of this painting, partly street scene, abstract or fashion oriented one, with a red coat and black boots, after all I must include my ‘signature’ or my trade mark….:). The previous version look brighter, but I think it is more of an optical effect due to the daylight that was partly filling the room, the last version photograph was taken at night, as it is most of the time, I try to adjust both in photoshop, but this one particular painting is difficult to adjust, anyhow I will be more careful when time will come to take the final photo, but it is not the time for that yet….

Le château d'Heidelberg, la suite...A follow up, Heidelberg Castle...

D’autres photos du château d’Heidelberg, enfin il est beau mais en ruine, détruit lors de la guerre des 30 ans, je ne ferai pas le résumé des circonstances de sa destruction mais voici un lien vers Wikipedia, en anglais…Heidelberg Castle er en français Château d’Heidelberg.  Donc quelques photos de plus, qui datent de  novembre 1986, ou octobre…c’est un peu loin, un jour j’écrirai un peu plus sur ces années qui ont été importantes pour moi, de 1982 à 1987, quitté  Montréal, pour Winnipeg, d’où je j’allais souvent travailler dans l’arctique canadien et ensuite il y eut un voyage d’un an en Europe de l’ouest, dont 4 mois à Vienne, graduellement j’espère retrouver les nombreuses photos prises au cours de ces années, en attendant quelques clichés noir et blanc du Château.

A few more pictures of Heidelberg’s Castle, it is beautiful, even if it was destroyed and only partly rebluilded, it was destroyed during the 30 years war, I won’t try to write an historical essay here, I will rather put some links to wikipedia in english Heidelberg Castle er en français Château d’Heidelberg.  So a few more pics, taken in november 1986, or was it October, not quite sure, it was either beginning or ending of one or the other…:), some day I will write and show more pics about this period, actually spreading from 1982 to 1987, an important strech for me, left Montreal for Winnipeg, then I was going often up to the Canadian Artic weather stations, and in 1986-7, left the job and went travelling through Western Europe, including a four months stay in Vienna. but in the meantime two more pics of the Castle…

Un peu de peinture...a bit of painting....

Entre des numérisations, du travail sur photoshop, tout en m’amusant un peu peu avec Daz et Poser, sans compter faire l’essai du logiciel Silo, un logiciel de modélisaiton 3D, autant pour la création d’objet que de modification de modèles existants, par exemple créer des ‘morphs’ dans Poser, un peu plus sur cela éventuellement, oui je suis vacances, enfin quelques jours de repos, encore une semaine devant moi, drôle de vacances, mais cela me détend de travailler sur ces logiciels, mais bien sûr je garde du temps aussi pour la peinture, la dernière version du tableau de la Comtesse Monique, pas terminé…

Between scanning my old films, working on photoshop, and playing or fooling around with Daz and Poser, posing my models and playing art director…not forgetting trying a new software, Silo, nice modelling software, this one is more about modelling objects or modifying existing models, like creating morphs on existing model, it does work with Poser, don’t know yet for Daz, yes strange ways to use my few holidays period, I am off for another week, maybe it isn’t exactly a vacation, but it is fun to have time to do what you like, and of course, I did some painting, here’s the last version of Comtesse Monique, not finished yet…

J’ai aussi retravaillé un autre tableau, un modèle portant un manteau rouge et des bottes noires, tableau d’un style quelque peu abstrait, en voici une version, d’autres s’en viennent, je me garde du matériel pour de futurs articles…:)

I did also work on another canvas, a model wearing a red coat, black boots, I gave it a more abstract that usual look, here’s a version, others are ready, I may still work a bit more on it, I am just keeping those pics for coming posts…:)

Un long article, n’est-ce-pas? pour cette longue fin-de-semaine ici au Québec, demain c’est férié, certains fêteront la reine Victoria….signe de la tradition britannique, les vainqueurs en 1763….; d’autres fêtent Dollard des Ormeaux, un personnage canadien-français, dont on ne sait plus trop si c’est un héros ou tout simplement un voleur de fourrures et qui serait mort en voulant voler des fourrures à un groupe d’iroquois, et d’autres enfin célèbrent la courte rébellion des Patriotes, contre les britanniques, en 1837-1838, on aurait pu devenir une république…quant à moi je célèbre le congé du dollar patriotique royal…en faisant de la peinture et autres affaires sur mon ordi….

A fairly long post, isn’t it? this is a long week-end here in Quebec, tomorrow for some is Victoria Day, after all we’ve been a british colony for a long time, others will celebrate Dollard-des-Ormeaux, used to be considered a heros, now it does seems it was more of a shady person who died trying to rob some furs from some ‘Iroquois’ , others are celebrating or remembering a short rebellion against the bristish in 1837-38, Quebec could have become a republic, a bit like our neighboring United States… so for me it is now the Royal Patriotic Dollard day and I will mark it by painting and fooling around with various software to produce a few mores paintings, renderings and photographs from my past…

A L'endroit? Upside down?

Cette fois-ci je me suis pris au piège moi-même, à l’occasion j’aime prendre des photos où il est difficile de savoir où est le haut, ou le bas, et comme cette photo a été prise en novembre 1986, au Château de Heidelberg, eh bien je ne sais plus si elle est à l’endroit ou non, alors je mets les deux, donc un mur ébréché du Château, peu importe l’orientation…le sens des briques me laisse toutefois croire que la photo ne peut être tourné de 90 degrés, peu importe le sens horaire…mais à l’endroit ou non, sais pas…

This time I really did it, sometimes I do like framing a picture, so it is difficult to say if it is upside down or not, and this one was taken in November 1986, visiting the Heidelberg Castle, maybe it is the long time between now and the time I took the pic, or the picture itself, but I just can’t tell, up or down, the brick layout indicate it is not 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise, but up or down…don’t know.

Heureux problème.....A pleasant problem...

Problème et heureux vont rarement bien ensemble, mais cette fois oui, j’ai du matériel pour écrire plusieurs articles, et aussi probablement des champs d’intérêts un peu trop éparpillés…peinture, pastel, photographie, enfin mes vieilles photos à sortir ‘du placard’ et aussi mes essais de débutants avec mes logiciels 3D, le seul problème que j’ai est le manque de temps ou plutôt de prendre le temps d’écrire ces articles…en fait souvent on a ce que l’on croît qui nous fait défaut, ok peut-être pas pour l’argent, pour les problèmes de santé, pour ceux qui vivent dans des endroits frappés par des troubles sociaux, ou catastrophes naturelles, hum pas une bonne démonstration, mais enfin pour mon manque de temps, cela reste vrai…..:), donc ce matin, l’article du jour, but que je m’étais fixé au début de ce blog, de publier quelque chose tous les jours…parfois j’ai échoué lamentablement, d’autres fois j’y parviens presque…bon revenons à l’article du jour….quelques rendus 3D, de futurs modèles pour des toiles, on verra…en attendant quelques rendus.

Ploblems are rarely pleasant, I know…but this time it is fine, or a nice problem….I do have lot of things to present on my different sites, but the time is lacking, actually it is more a problem of taking time to do it, when we get down to it, most of the time, we do have what seems missing to us, except of course for money, health problems, social unrest…hum not a good demonstration is it? Ok I guess I meant I have the time, but not always to will to take it…:) so for today’s post, I remember when I started this blog wanting to publish daily…sometimes I am so far of this goal, other times, I am close to it, so back to our subject…today’s post, today it is some renderings of would be models for my paintings, so today a few renderings, next there should be some painting, photography, getting to those old buried ‘souvenirs’…tomorrow I guess another side of my dispersed interests…









Éventuellement il me faudra bien aménager des sections sur ce site pour mes travaux de photographie, de pose et d’animation 3D…éventuellement.

Eventually, I should get really to it and make some place on my sites for my photographic work, my 3D modelling and animation…eventually.

Munich...en noir et blanc/in black and white...

Une pause du tableau de la Comtesse, qui si je ne me trompes habite la région de Francfort, donc de Francfort à Munich, de la peinture à la photo, je n’ai pas eu beaucoup l’occasion de continuer à expérimenter mon nouveau numériseur, donc ce matin un essai avec quelques négatifs monochrome, des photos prises lors d’un voyage, voilà bien longtemps…j’étais à Munich, comme c’est souvent le cas, je suis arrivé après l’Oktoberfest, donc je passais beaucoup de temps dans les rues peu achalandées de la ville, c’était en novembre 1986.. c’est bien de  faire sortir du noir de vieilles choses, du temps où je photographiais plus que je ne peignais…

A break from Comtesse Monique’s painting, if I am not mistaken she lives around Frankfurt, so we move from Frankfurt to Munich or München in goethe language, a few black and white photos I did then when travelling there, a new test with my scanner, I did not have much time playing with it since. So those pics were taken in November 1986, long time ago…but it is nice to get old ‘souvenirs’ out of the dark, much more to do and come I guess….

Je m’ennuie de certaines choses que je faisais en chambre noire, ces films je les ai développés moi-même, fait quelques impressions, ou tirages, je me souviens que c’était beaucoup de travail, de plus comme je suis plutôt malhabile de mes mains…ce n’était pas toujours très plaisant ce ‘travail’, donc même si l’ambiance de chambre noire me manque, je trouve cela pas mal plus facile d’accès en utilisant mon numériseur et photoshop, quoique j’ai beaucoup à apprendre et faire avec ces outils modernes…aussi je commence à me dire que je devrais créer des pages supplémentaires afin d’y regrouper mes photos, mes travaux sur logiciels d’animation…ah des projets…encore…:) En attendant une version d’une des deux photos ci-haut, en utilisant quelques fonctions de photoshop.

I do miss some of the feeling of working in a darkroom, those pics were developed by me in a makeshift locker, lightproof or almost….:), it was a lot of work, especially for somebody lime me who is a bit, a lot, clumsy with his hands…but on the other hand these new tools, scanner, photography software are a lot of fun to use, even if I feel I do have a lot to learn yet, either for basic settings or just playing around with photoshop effects, like the pic here after.  I think I will have to start thinking about setting up pages on my sites to regroup photo works as well as my 3D software posing, and renderings, so I guess more projects on deck….

Une comtesse en peinture...A painting about a Comtesse...

Je ne me sens pas trop versé sur la prose aujourd’hui, alors je crois que je vais me contenter de présenter une nouvelle version du tableau de la Comtesse, Monique, de son nom de modèle, soit Comtesse Monique, ‘glamour’ modèle d’Allemagne, tableau sur lequel je travaille encore au moment actuel, enfin lorsque je ne suis pas au devant du clavier…donc la dernière version et le diaporama.

Don’t feel like writing much today , feel more like painting, which I don’t do if I am in front of my keyboard, so a short one just to present a new version of Comtesse Monique, glamour model from Germany, I am still working on it but will probably have to let it dry, so time to go the next one in line….in the meantime here’s the pic, and the slideshow.

Après Miki, Monique? After Miki, Monique?

Bon laissons quelque peu de côté mes logiciels, et tronquons les pour les pinceaux…au tour de la Comtesse Monique, tableau qui je le pressens me demandera du temps, donc patience aux amateurs de la Comtesse, qui sont assez nombreux je crois si je me fie aux articles qui sont revisités le plus souvent, et au mots utilisés dans les recherche…donc la version de ce soir, je ne sais pas quand je publierai l’article, mais on est lundi soir, 12 mai, enfin peu importe je présume…:) mais comme je me paie moi-même au nombre de mots et de photos utilisés pour présenter mes tableaux, cela compte, c’est pour cela aussi que je mets souvent un diaporama, je compte chaque diapo comme une photo présentée…:)

Well time to leave aside my work on those 3d modelling software, and move to the brushes, and tonight the victim of those brushes…:) ok victim isn’t the word, more like the inspiration for today, which is monday night, the 12 th, not that it does matter, I pay myself by the word written to present my pictures and also by the number of pics, counting in that the slideshow that comes with most of my posts….so here’s a new version of the Comtesse Monique painting, I know, if I look a the number of revisiting of previous posts of this painting, that it was awaited, hope it will fulfill the want to see a new version…but may as well tell that I think it will be a fairly long process getting to the end…so keep coming back…:)

Un autre viurs? Another virus?

Un autre virus? je pense que oui…mais celui-là me semble logé bien profondément encore une fois, sauf qu’il y a une petite différence, il semble s’attaquer surtout et avant tout à mon cerveau…..les symptômes, sont peu nombreux mais très apparents… et je crois savoir son nom, c’est le Liz,encore, les symptômes est que le sujet atteint, moi en l’occurrence, ne peut se résigner à passer à autre chose que de peindre la belle Liz dans tous ces atours, dont bien sûr ses jolies cuissardes jusqu’à atteindre la perfection, normalement je sais qu’on ne peut l’atteindre cette perfection, mais je pense que ce virus attaque justement cette capacité du cerveau à reconnaître ce fait…donc une autre version…

I think I got attacked by another virus, and this time it is a very virulent one, that went deeply into the system, the only particularity of this one, is that it is does attack the brain not of the computer, but the user’s brain, in this case, mine.
Symptoms? not many but very persistant, like to urge to attein perfection and keep painting, until you do get to the point where you say…it is just perfect. The name of this virus you may ask? it is known as Liz,encore, or another version is Liz,boots,again.again. As for the symptoms, very persistent, but not too detrimental, just the urge to push her painting to a point where no painter as gone….perfection. Usually your brain, prevent you to pursue this impossible goal, but it seems that the virus is disabling this defence…..so maybe I will just put another version of this painting…and wait to see how mad my brain goes….

Bien sûr, aussi bien présenter le diaporama, et même une photo de la version de ce virus…c’est plutôt rare qu’on peut montrer une photographie d’un virus d’ordi ou de peintre fou, mais dans ce cas-ci voici celle que j’ai trouvé…

Of course I will show the slideshow, and the photo of this instance of this virus, usually you don’t get to see the picture of computer’s virus, but in this case I found this…

Je crois qu’il existe plusieurs programmes antivirus qui pourraient éliminer ou prévenir de futures infections, ou encore un bon pare-feu ferait le travail, mais pour le moment je préfère le laisser agir ce virus….

Of course I could probably set up some kind of antivirus program or firewall to stop this virus, but somehow, I prefer to stay infected….:)

Miki encore, mais des rendus de logiciels 3d....Still with Miki, but with the help of 3d softwares renderings

Aprés le tableau de Miki, pourquoi pas montrer quelques autres rendus en 3d du modèle, cette fois-ci, j’ai utilisé Poser 10, les rendus sont plus beaux et demandent moins de réglages qu’avec Daz, du moins pour un montage simple dans ce cas-ci, rien d’autre que de modifier les poses, le visage…la première tentative était plutôt raté, le visage détonne du reste du corps, le moins que je puisse dire…par contre poser un modèle avec Daz Studio est d’une grande simplicité, alors qu’avec Poser, j,ai plus l’impression de retrouver des logiciels plus compliqués, comme Autocad…c’est mon métier, dessinateur avec Autocad….

After working on this painting of Miki, I did some work in Poser, an animation and posing software, that were she came from…the previous ones were made with Daz Studio, the renderings in Poser seems more real, both were made, the previous one in Daz and those in Poser with minimal settings for lighting. But in Poser the posing…sorry for the repetition…:) is more difficult than in Daz, so both have their very strong points…the first rendering wasn’t too good, her face look it doesn,t belong to the same body…

quelques autres tests. comme par exemple appliquer la texture au corps avant d’en appliquer une autre au visage, donnent de meilleurs résultats, je trouve qu’elle a l’air plus naturelle, enfin cela ne peut encore concurrencer un vrai modèle mais j’aime bien le résultat, surtout qu’on peut faire encore beaucoup au niveau de la pose, de l’éclairage pour rendre le tout encore plus réaliste, évidemment j’ai essayé plusieurs autres petites choses, plus ou moins réussies, mais cela fera peut-être l’objet d’un prochain article.

A few more tests, like applying the body texture, before the make up, did bring much better results, she looks almost natural, of course it isn’t the real thing like a real model, but to me it is pretty fine…I did many others tests, more or less successful, but maybe it will be material for another post sometimes…

J’ai mis quelques rendus de différentes poses, je me suis amusé…
I did a few more renderings of a few different poses, it was fun….

Et j’ai décidé de lui faire pousser les cheveux, au lieu de lui donner une coupe, une seconde et elle a une chevelure plus longue, j’imagine que ce serait le rêve de tout modèle, photographe de mode ou styliste….and elle en rit bien….

And I decided at the end to give her not an haircut, but more like the inverse, in a few seconds, not even one she had long hair, I guess it would be a dream situation for a model, photographer or art stylist….:) and she’s laughing about it….

Voilà en partie mon dimanche, en plus de faire quelques ajustements à l’ordi, à ma connexion internet à laquelle il manque toujours un petit quelque chose depuis mes mésaventures, et aussi je n’ai pu résister à installer une nouvelle version de photoshop…hum pas sûr que ce soit une si bonne nouvelle, moi qui a tendance à m’éparpiller passablement, enfin on verra….

So this was part of my Sunday, on top of working on a few things on my computer, still have to get a few things up to par since my mishaps of last week, and on top of that I got a new version of photoshop…adding that to my scan, and my tendancy to spread out a bit too much, I’m not sure it is a so good news…well we will see, I think it is a good thing…:)

Entre des séances de logiciels 3D, Poser et Daz, éventuellement je ferai des articles sur ces logiciels, et aussi sur Photoshop, j’ai aussi travaillé le tableau de Miki, qui comme vous le savez maintenant n’était pas terminé….donc voici la version à jour de ce tableau et du diaporama.

Between working on a few 3D projects in both Poser and Daz, eventually there will be a few posts on these softwares and the work I am trying to do with these, and also my new found or refound interest for photoshop and photography in general, well I did work on this painting of Miki, so now you know I wasn’t finished with it….so here’s the latest version, the latest not the final one….and the slideshow.

J’avais planifié de publier cet article au début de la semaine, mais parfois les aléas de la vie d’administrateur des services informatiques de mon entreprise….heureusement seulement 2 ordis à gérer, font que la cédule fout le camp…:)

I was going to publish this last Tuesday, but sometimes the up and down of my life as self proclaimed Computer specialist of my home business…fortunately just two computers to take care of….make plans to go down the drain….:)

Passé la soirée à remettre en état mon ordi, dure bataille, mais je crois avoir gagné, je verrai en revenant du travail, mais depuis tard hier soir tout semble bien aller, même s’il m’a fallu aller bien ‘profond’ dans les fichiers système de mon ordi, donc je devrais pouvoir me remettre à la peinture, donc en attendant, en reprise, une toile que je travaillerai probablement au cours de la fin-de-semaine qui s’amène….

Spent the whole night fixing my ailing computer, had to dig quite deep into the system files to get that crap out of my system, but as of last night and thiis morning, all seems to be back on track, so here’s a ‘rerun’ waiting for the next version of this painting, should be sometimes over the week-end….just a few hours away now….

Un rhume...plutôt un virus/Computer virus....

Peu présent de ce temps-ci….mon appareil s’est enrhumé, un virus, qui rend la navigation sur internet pénible, passe mon temps à fermer des pages non sollicitées qui ouvrent, j’espère un retour à la normale en fin-de-semaine….

A bit absent these days, my computer catched a cold…some kind of virus  that keep opening unwanted pages, so navigating the internet is not funny at all..

Je hais ‘search.conduit’ de la m…..!!!!! ces trous du c….pourtant je ne faisais rien de bien spécial, tombé sur un pop-up, et le temps de fermer et faire marche arrière…tout a foutu le camp…

I hate ‘search.conduit’ piece of s…..t!!!!! those peoples, a pop up apperead, just shut it up and back, but it was enough to get in a lot of trouble….

Liz et c'est Noël!....Christmas in May and Liz!!

Oui je sais, on en est à plus de 7 mois de cette fête, et l’été est même pas encore là, donc tranquillise toi….mais c’est tout-de-même Noël pour moi aujourd’hui, mon numériseur est arrivé, et le vieux monsieur est content….

Yes still more than seven months to go before that, but today is Christmas for me….my scanner arrived, and the old man is happy…



Un coup installé je l’ai essayé avec trois photo ordinaire, une diapo, un négatif et une photo papier, des couchers de soleil, ou ciels nuageux, j’ai pris ce que j’ai pu trouver rapidement, dont une photo prise à Mould Bay, genre d’endroit où on subit un blizzard le 11 juilllet…

Once installed I did test it, three test, slide, negative and paper photo, nothing fancy, took what I did found quickly, all are kind of cloudy, damp, or sunset, one is from Mould Bay, kind of place north of Beaufort sea where you can get a blizzard on July 11…



Mais même si c’est fête…j’ai travaillé…Liz, et son visage s’en vient bien, cela aussi j’en suis bien content…

But even if this is holiday time…I did work, on this painting of Liz Hurley and I think her face is coming along pretty nice, I am also glad about that…

Vienne et Photoshop....Photoshop and Vienna....

Un petit test avec photoshop, que finalement je connais bien peu, enfin je connais ce que j’ai besoin pour redimensionner, cadrer et améliorer la luminosité et les couleurs, lorsque je photographie mes tableaux, pastels et esquisses, mais je ne m’en suis jamais bien servi pour autre chose, même la photo. Donc un petit essai, avec une photo prise lors d’un voyage à Vienne voilà bien longtemps, la photo, que j’ai utilisé comme fond de tableau, est plutôt ordinaire, donc je me suis dit que je testerais certaines des fonctions, je vous dirais bien lesquelles, mais je ne suis plus sûr…mais je sais que j’ai créé un calque alpha, modifier la luminosité et contraste de chacun des calques,…faudra que je documente plus, mais pour le moment c’est plus un petit jeu, pas sûr que je peux dire que cela donne une bonne photo, maintenant, mais différentes, plutôt deux fois qu’une…la photo originale et deux essais…

A little bit of testing with photoshop today, I must admit I don’t know much about this software, I do know enough to resize, crop and adjust the photos I’m taking for my paintings and drawings but not much more than that, so I decided to run au few tests using a photo taken on a trip to Vienna, long time ago…the photo by itself isn’t a very good one, more of a random shot without knowing to much what I wanted then, so I decided to play with a few settings, I’m not to sure exactly what I did, should have taken a few notes, I know there was some adjustments for lighting, contrast, creating an alpha layer and playing on the  different color channels, so here’s the original, and two versions using those modified settings







Comme je le mentionnais pas sûr que le résultat soit aussi édifiant que je l’espérais, mais cela me donne des idées…et aussi du matériel pour combler les jours, et espacer les présentations de tableaux qui changent, mais pas assez ou tout simplement que je préfère attendre avant de présenter une mise-à -jour de certaines de ces toiles.  Je me suis aussi ‘amusé’ avec mes logiciels 3d, et fait des tests avec d’autres modèles, bientôt je ferai aussi une section 3d, et photographie sur ce site, en fait la page est là, il me reste à la remplir…et ajouter des choses.

Et pourquoi pas présenter de nouveau le tableau que j’ai fait en utilisant cette photo

The result wasn’t really what I would call a great success, but it is different and more importantly it did gave me a few ideas, and also it gave me the occasion to present something between too many posts about the same painting, I prefer showing a few steps in the same posts, so expect more photography and eventually there will be also a 3d section, yes did play a bit more over the week-end with those softwares and models….and why not showing again the painting I did using this picture as a background..
