Liz et c'est Noël!....Christmas in May and Liz!!

Oui je sais, on en est à plus de 7 mois de cette fête, et l’été est même pas encore là, donc tranquillise toi….mais c’est tout-de-même Noël pour moi aujourd’hui, mon numériseur est arrivé, et le vieux monsieur est content….

Yes still more than seven months to go before that, but today is Christmas for me….my scanner arrived, and the old man is happy…



Un coup installé je l’ai essayé avec trois photo ordinaire, une diapo, un négatif et une photo papier, des couchers de soleil, ou ciels nuageux, j’ai pris ce que j’ai pu trouver rapidement, dont une photo prise à Mould Bay, genre d’endroit où on subit un blizzard le 11 juilllet…

Once installed I did test it, three test, slide, negative and paper photo, nothing fancy, took what I did found quickly, all are kind of cloudy, damp, or sunset, one is from Mould Bay, kind of place north of Beaufort sea where you can get a blizzard on July 11…



Mais même si c’est fête…j’ai travaillé…Liz, et son visage s’en vient bien, cela aussi j’en suis bien content…

But even if this is holiday time…I did work, on this painting of Liz Hurley and I think her face is coming along pretty nice, I am also glad about that…

Il serait bien temps de montrer une première version de ce tableau de Liz…..je pourrais écrire plus longuement mais je suis fatigué ce soir, et je veux la présenter sur mon site ce soir (jmr-art) et demain je serai affamé, puisque je passerai mon heure de dîner en ermite dans mon cubicule en train de pubier sur WordPress, Blogger et autres nettetés…donc Liz, une version, une autre…c’est presque qu’une drogue ces affaires là, quoique non à bien y penser les drogues, douces bien sûr, comme la bière…et ah je vous laisse deviner…sont plus le fun, mais je ne peux le faire ici au bureau…:), bon la photo…

Well it’s about time isn’t it? for me to show a pic of Liz’s painting, enough saying it is coming, varnishing the painting and so on, so even If I am quite tired tonight, as usual I try to post something on my site JMR-ART, and tomorrow I will be hiding in front of my computer, during lunch time, so much for socializing…, trying to catch a bit of time while eating my great lunch, to post on WordPress, Blogger and other things on the net, sometimes I feel it is almost like a drug, no I prefer drugs, soft ones, like beer, and…ah leave the reader in doubt….:), I did not inhale it, can’t say that about beer and wine….:), so the pic…

La photo de LIz, comme ça fait un bout, peut-être que vous l’avez oublié, quoique j’ose espérer que le tableau vous en donne déjà une bonne idée, et après le diaporama.
Liz photo, it’s been a while, so maybe you don’t quite remember what she look like, although I hope the painting already gave you a hint….and the slideshow.

M vient après L je crois....M comes after L, I think...

Si je me souviens bien de mon alphabet, M suit L, donc le tableau de la Comtesse Monique, devrait logiquement suivre le tableau de Liz, et comme je suis d’une logique implacable, j’ai décidé de passer à la lettre M pour Monique, une Comtesse de la mode. J’avais laissé ce tableau la dernière fois en me rendant compte que j’avais mal dessiné, ou plutôt positionné son corps, j’aurais pu le laisser tel quel et continuer, mais j’ai plutôt opté pour un recul, et redessiné ce qui n’était pas à mon goût, et de le refaire, pour le moment sans trop approfondir, vaut mieux s’assurer que le dessin est correct avant d’aller plus loin, simple, je devrais savoir cela, mais on ne parviens pas toujours à faire ce que l’on sait qu’on devrait faire, et la logique s’en suit, on fait parfois ce que l’on sait que l’on aurait pas dû faire…donc un ou quelques pas en arrière…pour mieux faire la prochaine fois….

If I remember correctly my alphabet, and luckyly it is the same in english and french, M comes after L, so I guess, by logic, the Comtesse Monique painting’s should follow Liz Painting’s, so I move the Comtesse painting ahead of my line of painting waiting to be reworked…and then I remembered that the last time I did notice that the drawing, or positionning of her body was wrong, or not quite what it should have been, I should know by now that before moving too far, I have to make sure that the drawing is good, but sometimes we do not manage to do what should have been made right…and of course, logically, I sometimes mess my drawing, so I decided to take a few steps back, which mean redrawing alomost completely her body, this time trying not to push too far the details, get the shape right before going further…I should know that, actually I know it, but doing it is more difficult…so a few backsteps, to be ready to move ahead soon….

Évidemment cela fait un certain temps que j’ai travaillé ce tableau donc la photo de la Comtesse Monique, et l’adresse de sa page Comtesse Monique, et le diaporama.

Peut-être parce qu’elle habite en Allemagne, mais bizarrement, mon logiciel pour mettre à jour mon site me donne certaines instructions en allemand, du moins le peu que je connais de cette langue me laisse croire que c,est de l’allemand, faut dire que mon logiciel fonctionne parfois de façon un peu étrange dernièrement, en autant que je puisse mettre à jour mon site, cela me va…:)

Maybe because she lives in Germany, my site update software give me some instructions in german, at least seems to me it is german from what I know of this language, must say that this software and site did act a bit bizarre recently, but it is all right as long as I can update my site…:)



Au début de la journée, bien sûr, je n’ai pu m’empêcher de retoucher légèrement le tableau de Liz, mais là je suis à un point que je dois le laisser reposer, pour laisser l”huile sécher ou tout simplement pour avoir un  regard neuf dans quelques jours, ou semaines…

But of course I did started the day adding a few more touches on Liz painting’s, but I guess I’m to the point where sometimes you do have to let it dry, or maybe just let it rest to get a fresh look to it in a few days or weeks…

Toujours en piste avec Liz / Still on track with Liz....

Eh oui toujours avec Liz, pas de sortie de piste ou de faux pas, du moins je le crois, hier je savais que j’en avais perdu un peu, pas satisfait du contraste et jeu de lumière et d’ombre dans ses bottes, mais je me disais que c’était passager, le temps de laisser sécher un peu et de s’y remettre, donc pense que c’est encore dans le bon chemin, donc pour le moment je me sens en contrôle,,,,mais je sais que cela peut parfois partir rapidement à la dérive, bof on verra bien….

Still on track with Liz, at least I think…therefore I am on track, not sure but to me it looks all right now, not finished, I had lost something yesterday, but it is coming back, still I would like to work a bit more on contrast, lighting and adding color here and there, just have to stay away from ‘les faux pas’ sometimes it doesn’t take much for a painting to go wild…too wild…but for now I feel in control, that’s something I don’t say often….

La peinture et la descente en ski, les similitudes..../ The diffirence between downhill skiing and painting...

C’est probablement la fin des jeux olympiques d’hiver qui m’a inspiré ce titre, les différences sont bien sûr énormes, premièrement si je rate la porte de l’atelier, je me cognerai au pire la tête contre le cadre à une bien faible vitesse, et je ne risque probablement aucunement de subir une dangereuse commotion cérébrale, ni de me tuer….par contre il y a peut-être une très mince similitude…prendre des chances pour pousser un peu plus loin, ce qui est déjà bon, eux c’est pour gagner quelques centièmes de seconde et possiblement une médaille d’or…moi, pas de médaille, probablement rien de plus que quelques ‘clics’ pour me signifier que vous l’aimez bien, peut-être quelques commentaires élogieux, mais surtout si je réussis à la rendre là où je le veux, l’immense satisfaction de me dire Wowww…..et de vouloir la garder précieusement chez moi et de ne jamais la laisser aller Elisabeth, enfin le tableau que j’ai fait d’elle bien sûr….la photo d’hier soir

Maybe it is the end of the winter games, that has inspired me this title, of course the answer is there is close to no similitude between the two, If I do miss a gate, actually there is no gate in my atelier…but anyhow if I do a mistake, tripping on something or banging my arm or knee somewhere I don’t thing I will end up rushed to an hospital, I doubt I will have a concussion or anything else like that, but maybe there is this only weak similarity, the wish to go further, they do it to gain a few fractions of a second that can ended up being winning the gold for them, I do it well, maybe for a few ‘likes’ or even a few nice comments, but mainly to take this painting to the point where I will say….Woww…this is it, it is awesome…to me at least…and probably ending by not wanting to let it go, and I will keep Elisabeth, the painting that is, with me for the rest of my life…:) Last night Picture’s…

Le truc du jour...The daily trick....

Comme vous l’avez sûrement remarqué, j’ai changé un peu ma façon de présenter mes articles et tableaux, avant j’aurais attendu et regroupé plusieurs séances dans un seul article, là comme je me disais que ce blog est en quelque sorte mon journal en peinture, j’ai donc décidé de faire un article par séance de ‘travail’, évidemment comme parfois je m’attarde…sur certains tableaux plusieurs séances en ligne, il risque d’y avoir une certaine redondance, en espérant que cela reste tout-de-même intéressant…De plus cela me permet de constituer une banque d’articles, par contre évidemment la plupart des tableaux présentés dateront de quelques jours, et parfois auront complètement changé entre le moment où j’ai fait cette version et l’article..enfin pas bien grave je crois…

As you probably did noticed, I did changed a bit my way of presenting my works, usually I would have made one post for many painting sessions if they were spent on the same painting, now I kind of revert to the description of this blog, which to me is more like a journal, almost daily…or trying for it to be daily, hence I write usually a post by painting session, of course this means that you will probably see the same painting on and on for days sometimes, a slow slideshow….hope you won’t mind it…

Donc une autre séance sur Liz Ausin Powers, je ne peux même pas me rappeler le nom de son personnage, Vanessa je crois mais enfin…pour le moment plutôt à l’étape du peaufinage, petites retouches ici et là, surtout au niveau du visage et des cheveux, les ombres, etc…Une photo, car comme on le sait, cela vaut mille mots…

So here’s another one from Austin Liz Powers…or Liz Hurley, can’t even remember the name of her character, I think it is Vanessa, Wikipedia is there for that if your really want to know, so back to painting, I’m working on a more subtle pace, more in ‘peaufinage’ or working more on delicate details, her face, hair and of course a bit on her boots, and costume…so here’s the equivalent of a thousand words…

Une autre de Liz, j’en ai deux en cours, je dois rendre à César, enfin à la reine de mes muses, bof sais pas trop ce que je dois lui rendre, donc Liz dans son costume qu’elle portait dans le grand film…hum ok petit film drôle,,,d’Austin Powers…parodie des James Bond, par contre Liz n’est sûrement pas une parodie de la beauté…:) Je semble être partie à rendre mes fonds de plus en plus abstrait, fluide, un peu comme si les trainées de couleur émanant du modèle se répandent partout sur le tableau, on verra où cela mènera…Une photo vaut mille mots, donc voilà 2000 mots….et bien plus encore si je compte les diapos…

Liz, again, is back on the easel, I have two of them in progress, must be because she is my muses queen’s…:), here she wears her scifi or spyfie suit, from the great movie, ok not a classic but a classic in is genre, Austin Powers, a parody of James Bond, but I don’t think Liz would qualify as a parody of beauty….Still playing a lot with the background where all kind of colors and shapes are either spreading or envelopping her, seems this is a major trend in my paintings these days, will see where it goes…I not good at writing about painting or anything else, so they say a pic is worth 1000 words, so here’s the equivalent of two thousands….and many more if counting the pics in the slideshow
