Lonneke, Exposition et ménage et Jack Bauer?

Toujours en préparation pour l'expo, pas encore commencé l'accrochage, bientôt...en attendant pour terminer la soirée, un peu de peinture, il y a toujours ce tableau des Lonneke que je voudrais bien terminer, il est bien près, peut-être changera-t-il encore un peu, sais pas. Dans mon milieu de travail, l'ingénierie, on émet souvent des documents préliminaires soit à 30, 60 ou 95 %, autrement presque terminé, peut-être devrais exposer ce tableau, en disant qu'il est 99 % fini, surtout que je sais bien que pour plusieurs, il est bel et bien fini...mais je n'étamperai pas un gros PRÉLIMINAIRE  sur le tableau, comme on fait sur les plans émis préliminaires....:D

Still preparing that exhibition, not yet started hanging the new works, still in clean up mode, but to end this day well, why not painting a little bit, like the 3 Lonneke painting, that still not quite finished, I think it is pretty close to be now, I do work in an engineering related job, maybe I should just do what they do with the drawing draft versions, sometimes the are emitted with the mention DRAFT, at either 30, 60 or 90 %, so I think it will be showned, finished or not, I will say it is a draft version at 99%, but I will omit the DRAFT VERSION mention on the canvas




Jeudi matin, je ressens les efforts de déménager des meubles et piles de toutes choses...mal un peu partout, donc avant de s'y remettre, un peu de peinture...nouvelle version du tableau, qui là est vraiment à 99%, sinon 100%...il y a de forte probabilités que les premiers visiteurs à l'expo, me surprennent en train de le modifier encore une fois...:)

Pas de photos de la préparation, des murs lavés vides sur photo ressemble beaucoup à des murs non lavés...devrais commencer l'accrochage bientôt et ainsi libérer un peu d'espace pour s'occuper du reste du logement....Jour E -52 heures...:)

Thursday morning, and many parts of my body remind me that I'm not use to extensive clean-up and moving duties...so to start slowly and warm up...why not trying to finish this painting, which now is probably more than 99%, in fact it is finish, but of course, I would not be surprised if the first visitors at my show, will caught me adding a thing here and there on this painting..:)

No pics of the place, bared washed walls, look quite the same as bared unwashed walls....should start today hanging the new works, and liberating some spaces to work on the rest of the place...E day minus 52 hours...stressing out a bit...:D

La préparation de mon expo? My exbition preparation?

Peut-être aurais-du faire comme les producteurs des séries 24 heures chrono, l’écran divisé en moins, et décrire ces quatre journées avant l’expo, d’accord, il n’y a pas de méchants terroristes et ce pauvre Jack Baueur qui doit faire 5 ou 6 fois l’impossible à chaque heure pour sauver son pays….

Maybe I should have done something more like the tv series Chrono 24, of course there is no bad terrorists, neither that good Jack Baueur, who must do 5 or 6 miracles each hour to save his country….

Je ne ferai pas un vidéo, ni une série télévisée, mais voici un diaporama....Jour E ( E pour exposition) moins les heures qui restent...

Difficile à croire que...Hard to believe that...

Que dans un peu moins de quatre jours, ma nouvelle exposition sera prête…il me semble qu’il reste tant de choses à faire….autre que d’écrire un article, mais un de mes abonnés sur wordpress http://bbylois.wordpress.com/, par ses commentaires m’a incité à pouvoir suivre cette expo, et comme ce blog se veut un peu un journal de la progression de mes toiles et pastels, pourquoi pas montrer un peu le ‘making of’ de cette exposition, donc quelques photos prises ce midi, pour le moment cela ressemble plus à un chantier que n’importe quoi d’autres…et je l’avoue, comme à chaque fois que je l’ai fait, je me sens un peu assommé par tout ce que je voudrais faire et finir d’ici samedi, et il y a, il y a toujours eu du compromis dans l’air, autrement dit faire ce qu’il me sera possible de faire d’ici samedi, heureusement j’ai eu la bonne idée de prendre congé de la ‘job’ jusqu’au premier mai…du temps pour préparer et s’en remettre…:)), après tout c’est une exposition mais surtout un party…:D

In less than 4 days my exhibition will be ready, so many things to do, to finish, I should not be losing more time blogging, but by his comments, one of my followers http://bbylois.wordpress.com/, kindly suggested me that it would be nice to follow or look at that expo, so I decide to go for a more like daily journal of the preparation of this exhibit, a making of in some sort…this blog is afterall a journal of my paintings sessions, so why not include the preparation of a show….so a few pics, of course at this point it doesn’t look to promising, more like a battlefield…:) and it is a bit discouraging now, but everytimes I did one of those shows, there is always a point were it does look like oh no I won’t make it, but then it does kick in, of course I already know I won’t be able to finish and do all I want to do, always have to figure ok lets go of this, do that, hard negociations…especially when it is with yourself…:)) At least, I had the good idea of taking a week off from work and two more days to recover from this show…..it will also be a party of course…:D

Plus que cinq jours pour préparer mon expo, ici chez moi, et évidemment j’arrive au point où le stress, d’être prêt pour cette exposition, commence à se faire sentir….tant de choses à faire, et de tableaux que j’aimerais terminer pour samedi, qui soudainement m’apparaît bien près, et je commence à penser que je ne serai pas prêt, mais cela se produit chaque fois que je fais cette exposition…., au moins Sophie Marceau, elle, elle est prête, du moins le tableau que j’ai fait d’elle évidemment….ou du moins je l’ai signé, ce qui n’est absolument pas une garantie, que l’envie de retoucher ce tableau me prendra, mais qu’au moins je la juge plus que présentable….:) la photo….

Just five days before my home exhibition, and yes, I’m starting to feel a bit stressed, so many things I have to do, in order to be ready for it, and of course quite a few paintings, I would like to be ready, finished I should say…and I start wondering if I will be ready, happen everytime I do this, but at least Sophie Marceau, her, she is ready, of course I’m talking about the painting I’m doing of her….of course the signature doesn’t mean I could not decide to add to it, happened a few times…., but it does meant that at this point I’m ready to put it on the wall…the photo

Ah qu'elles me donnent du...Oh they really give me....

Du trouble, ah ce qu'elles m'en donnent ces Lonneke.....encore une séance où ce tableau fait un détour plus ou moins long....j'étais parti bien tranquillement, et voilà comme cela arrive parfois, mais assez souvent avec ce tableau, je me mets à travailler avec plus d'élan, en ne prenant pas trop garde à ce qui arrivera, donc à ce point, mardi soir, pour être plus précis, elles ont toutes perdues ou gagnées quelque chose, perdues leurs visage, mais trouvé plus de contraste, et encore une fois ce tableau semble avoir son propre chemin, et comme je ne le retiens pas, je suis où il va....j'ai pris une photo, mais j'ai décidé d'attendre avant d'afficher cet article, quelque chose me dit que je vais le retravailler bientôt ce tableau, comme demain soir par exemple...

Lot of trouble these three Lonneke..another session when it seems that this particular painting, goes on his way, going in a way that I did not planned....and when this happen, some good and bad things happen, I do like the more loose side it took, even if in the meantime, it send my model almost faceless....at least tonight, which by the way is Tuesday, I took a photo, but did not feel like posting it right away, I know I will reworked it soon, like tomorrow night....

Maintenant en mode rattrapage, et aussi tant qu’à y être pourquoi pas modifié l’arrière-plan tout en essayant de ramener le ou les visages, travailler la lumière, qui est pas évidente….faut bien le dire….en fait il y en a partout, une difficulté que j’ai souvent lorsque je commence à reproduire des parties de la pose un peu partout, tout en essayant de garder une composition intéressante, pas évident…

In repair mode, for the face or faces shall I say…and why not working on the background, either by rendering it a bit more uniform, and playing with colors, shapes and contrast, and trying to fix the light, which is quite unnatural….in fact it is coming from many sides…I guess this is a difficulty that come with this type of painting, made from a collection of part of the same pose..

Encore un peu de travail sur ce tableau, qui approche de la fin, je le sens…et une autre jambe qui apparaît ou revient à vrai dire…, souvent j’applique une règle que j’ai gardé de mon tout premier cours de peinture…répéter à quelques endroits, une forme, une couleur, et voilà trois fois Lonneke et trois fois une de ses bottes, et quelques autres couleurs et formes qui reviennent ici et là, le chiffre magique dans ce cas ci est 3…:), je ne respecte pas toujours toutes ces règles apprises dans ces cours, mais pour les contourner à l’occasion, faut les connaître…mais dans ce cas-ci, je les ai respecté ces règles…:)

Still a bit, a lot of work, on this painting, which I think is finally very close to the end….I feel it or just telling myself the expo is near and I want to show it…and another leg is appearing, or reappearing I should say, often I do apply a rule I’ve been teached in my very first painting course, repeating either a color, a shape, a texture in at least 3 place, spread across the painting, apparently it does help balancing, and the eye is moving from one of these spots to another…so here I do have 3 times Lonneke and three times one of her boot….I guess the magic number here is 3, rule are fine, but I’m not always respecting them, you have to know them before deciding te break it, but it is not the case here…:)

Rien comme... Nothing like....

Rien comme de se fixer un échéancier, comme une date d’exposition, pour se mettre en mode ‘Terminator’,de tableaux va s’en dire…en bonne voie d’en terminer un autre ce soir, peut-être pas  ce soir, mais s’il n’est pas terminé, il manquera bien peu de choses…

Nothing like having a deadline, even self-imposed, like putting a date for a home exhibition, to finish some works that were due, maybe it won’t be finished tonight, but very little will be missing….

Le tableau de ce modèle, aux bottes blanches, on s’y attend qu’il y ait des bottes…:) et qui prend ou dépose sa valise, je ne le sais toujours pas…

Comme il reste tout-de-même bien peu de temps avant cette expo, j’aimerais finir ces deux autres interminables toiles, Lonneke Engel et ses doubles ou triples en fait, et Sophie Marceau, il y a bien longtemps qu’ils durent ces tableaux…et j’aimerais bien les présenter….allez au travail!

Since there is not so much time left before the exhibition, I would like to finish those two unfinishable paintings…Lonneke, actually more like three times her and also Sophie Marceau, been so long I started those two, I would like very much have them ready for the exhibit….get to work!

Dans un trou...Idle.....

Encore beaucoup de difficultés à faire ce que je devrais faire, mais j’aI fait quelques pas en vue de sortir de ce trou où je me suis enlisé..bien sûr artistiquement parlant, parlerai pas du reste….:). Je me suis réinscrit à une autre session de dessin de modèles, d’ailleurs je vais afficher quelques photos des dernières séances, il y a trop longtemps que je ne l’ai fait….viens aussi de terminer un autre tableau, celui de Paulina; et  trouvé un directeur de galerie bien sympa qui accepte de montrer tous mes tableaux, pastels et dessins….Moi….les négociations ont été assez faciles….de plus comme l’appartement a grandement besoin d’un grand et profond ménage, je ne peux trouver de meilleur incitatif pour m’y mettre, que de faire cette exposition , si par hasard vous passez par Montréal, vous pouvez me demander les détails pour s’y rendre, les 27 et 28 avril prochain, et si vous passez plus tard, vous pouvez toujours me contacter, les tableaux resteront accrochés jusqu’à la prochaine expo…dans quelques mois ou années…:), mon courriel jmrart3@gmail.com

Still can’t really get going these days, but did took a few steps to try to pull out of this hole, artistictly speaking…., so to get moving, I did took another life model drawing sesson this spring, I guess it would be time also to show some of the latest works of these life model drawing session, been to long I did that…second I finished another painting, Paulina, and most important, I did find a very comprehensive art gallery director who’s willing to show my entire collection of works!….negociations went very well, since that director is ME…:D. An exhibition of my things at home is a good way to shake up things as well, and my appartment do need a big, very big clean up, an exhibition is a very good incentive to de that…do if by any chance you’re in the Montreal area on april 27 and 28, write to me to get the details; and by the way if you come but later, since the painting will stay put on the walls until the next one, in a few months, or years , it is always possible to take arrangment for a visit…:), email me at jmrart3@gmail.com

Un nouveau tableau de Liz...A new painting of Liz...

Toujours en mode rattrapage pour ce blog....donc un nouveau tableau, commencé à la fin mars, Elisabeth Hurley.....voici la version la plus à jour et un diaporama des premières étapes...

Still in come back mode for this blog, so here's a new painting, started at the end of march, an acrylic painting of model actress Liz Hurley...another one...:). This is the latest version and a slideshow showing the first steps of this new painting.

Shania....fini! ce tableau/ Fianally over this painting...

Laissé de côté l’aquarelle, pour l’acrylique, et le tableau de Shania, qui est déjà pas mal fini, sauf peut-être ses mains, son visage, les plis de sa robe et ses bottes, un peu de lumière ou d’ombre ici et là…donc en mode finition, petits détails, trop, sais pas….voici une première version finale…:)

Left alone my watercolor, for awhile, but went back into acrylic, staying in waterbase mediums….with this painting of Shania Twain, which could have been finished…but felt a bit of work here and there was needed, maybe not, but work on her hands, hair, face, dress and boots textures, a bit lighter, or darker, basically just in the finishing steps, which can be numerous….but here’s the finished version….or I shall say the first finished version…:)

Je ne pouvais me décider à la montrer, en général elle me plait, sauf pour le visage qui me semble trop crispé….donc bien sûr me suis dit que si je pouvais prendre le visage de l’avant dernière et le mettre sur la dernière version…ce serait facile avec photoshop…:), mais ce ne sera pas aussi simple…encore quelques modifications et finalement, là j’espère que ce sera la bonne…

Could not decide myself to show it like that, like the last version in general, except, of course, alway something that’s tickling me, her face wich went in a different manner than what I expected it to be, like the face of the previous one, and the general look of the second…maybe I should use photoshop…but of course I went to rework it, and of course a bit more than her face, hopefully, this will be it now…

Peut-être que je devrais m’inspirer de  la tradition pour l’élection d’un pape pour annoncer si elle est finie ou non, alors fumée blanche ou noire…blanche je pense….:)

Maybe I should borrow the pope election’s tradition for letting know if it is finished or not, white or black smoke, tonight I say white smoke…:)
