Un dimanche qui passe trop vite / A not so lazy sunday

On dirait que certaines journées on fait un peu de tout, peindre, ménage, social, un bon ami, un de mes meilleurs, que j’ai pas vu depuis trop longtemps, un petit montage vidéo, enfin un peu de tout, finalement ce sera des choses en vue d’articles futurs…donc pour résumer, enfin plus ou moins, difficile de montre une image qui résumerait cette journée, donc pourquoi pas celle ci, on voit des articles en préparation, un vidéo qui s’en vient, et parfois tout en écoutant du Glenn Miller, Moolight Serenade, pense pas qu’il y ait un vidéo sur les chaînes de vidéos musique de cela…et une bière canadienne, la feuille d’érable ne ment pas, et quoique presque qu’impossible à voir, le castor et la feuille d’érable embossée dans la bouteille, ok pour cela vous devez me croire sur parole, vraiment pas clair sur la photo..et le lien entre le net et mon atelier, mon ordi, qui finalement fonctionne très bien maintenant…de temps en temps on a de petites victoires qui font que la vie est belle, même dimanche soir…

Some days , it does seems like every thing goes and you do wonder where it went, but you don’t feel sorry, did a bit of painting, socialising, a very good friend, too long we did not spent time together, even a bit of cleaning, also worked on a making of video, the last of 2013, well , that mean I must finish some new painting to start 2014…hum difficult to show sometihing that would render the day, and besides I did a few things but I do not have much ready to show, so I guess this pic will have to do for this day…you can see posts are coming, draft mode now, a beer, a canadian beer as the maple leaf on the bottle nech testify, difficult almost impossible to see, but there is also a beaver and a maple leaf embossed in the bootle, my good friend mr Sleeman doing…so I guess for now this is it, here’s a pic, also you can see the link between my studio and the net, my ‘reborn’ new computer, it is working fine now…stange sometimes little things do good and even if it is the dreadful sunday night, the blues are not there tonight, now it is Fleetwood mac playing, it was Glenn Miller when I was writing the french part, but both feel good tonight…so while waiting for more here the pic, it does tell more is coming…

La dernière neige? Last snowfall this winter?

Ah que faire aujourd’hui, en ce samedi  où je me sens bien peu enclin à faire quoi que ce soit, tout d’abord peut-être présenter une autre version du tableau de Liz….

Ah what should I do today, feeling a bit very lazy…maybe should just start by showing a new version of this Liz’s painting

Bien sûr je la regarde et je me dis, bon peut-être que je devrais m’installer au chevalet et peindre, tentant…
Well maybe I should just relax, sit or stand in front of my easel, very tempting…



Et là, je me dis bien beau peindre mais prendre l’air est tout aussi important, peux pas vraiment bien voir à l’extérieur par la fenêtre, faudra bien mettre le nez dehors…
And I am telling myself, maybe it would be a good thing to go outside, take some fresh air, painting could wait a bit longer, a look at the window, and can’t really tell anything



Évidemment, il ne fait pas si sombre dans mon salon, trop paresseux pour ajuster la photo dans photoshop, par contre j’aime l’effet…un monde extérieur plein de surprises m’attend j’en suis sûr….

Of course, it is not so dark in my living room, just did not take the time to correct the pic in photoshop….and besides, I like the mood, and to me it is just saying, ok not that sunny, but I have  the feeling something great is waiting for me outside…I must go…..

UN PEU PLUS TARD...A BIT LATER...

Un peu plus tard, suite de l’article précédent, je mets le nez dehors dans la nature sauvage, ok disons sur le balcon avec vue extraordinaire sur un boulevard parfois bien passant….magnifique!!!

Then a bit later, I finally step in the great outdoors…ok just my balcony, overlooking a sometimes busy street, Gorgeous!!!!



Bon peut-être pas si tentant que cela, la vue vers le nord, pas le Grand Nord Canadien, mais plutôt enneigé et froid ce printemps, allons vers le sud, plus clément, ce serait surprenant mais cela vaudra une autre photo…

Well looking north, not the well known Canadian Great White North….but today north is snowy and a bit cold for springtime, maybe looking south, I know it will be the same, but at least I will take another picture and fill some space on my blogs…



J’aime l’hiver mais après plusieurs mois, je ne sens plus le même amour…et je commence à penser, et je sais que je ne suis pas le seul, qu’il est temps pour lui d’aller faire un tour ailleurs, et là j’entends l’appel de plus en plus fort de mes pinceaux accompagné d’une belle musique, enfin depuis que je me suis décidé à reformater l’ordinateur, il fait bien son boulot…
I do like winter, but after many months, maybe it is just time for it to go away….and me to go in the studio, listening to music, yes my computer is still doing a good job since I reformat it, actually it is doing what it is suppose to do…and I can hear my brushes calling me…louder and louder…like a call not from the wood but from the studio…

Ouf la fin-de-semaine...Ouf the week end finally...

Enfin cette dure semaine est finie, temps pour un café et un peu de peinture, plus tard je m’occuperai de finir de réinstaller mes choses sur l’ordi, en attendant oublions les démangeaisons, les questionnements et les problèmes de toutes sortes, je suis peut-être allergique au boulot….en attendant café et peinture au menu.

Well, finally that hell of a week is finished, time for some R&R, time for a coffee and some painting, all the others not so funny things scratches, computers to fix, health to fix, have to wait to monday to see my doc, then I should no more about my all over itchy skin…maybe I’m allergic to work…



Oui je sais on ne devrait pas boire et manger dans un atelier, on peut s’intoxiquer, mais je suis très attentif et fait bien attention…
Yes I know it is not a good practice to eat and drink in your atelier….may intoxicate yourself…but I pay attention to what I’m doing, I’m very careful…



Aie! presque perdu, encore une fois, une bonne tasse de café, le médium à peindre et une touche de peinture ont pour effet de ruiner irrémédiablement un bon café….
oops almost did it again, spoil a good cup of coffee with a brush loaded with paint and medium…hum pas sûr…

Bon temps de corriger cette toile, me semble que quelque chose n’est pas à sa place, voyons voir….10,5 cm,  environ….
Well time to correct this painting, seems to me something is wrong with my drawing, let’s see….10,5 cm from the edge, about ….hum not sure…





Hum pas facile ce matin, encore un peu de café, oops fait attention…tu vas encore tacher la photo, encore une fois…
Hum not easy this morning, still need a bit more coffee I think, ooops pay attention, dont put your brushes on the picture, oops another one stained…bof nothing to worry about…

Oui je travaille d’après photo, et parfois je mesure, mais la plupart du temps, je dessine sur la toile directement et je vérifie parfois le postionnment de certaines parties du modèle, non je ne suis pas méticuleux au point de tout mesurer…:) et souvent je travaille mes photos dans photoshop, parfois je fais du montage, et du maquillage, comme par exemple vous croyez sûrement que je suis bien agé, mais la barbe, le crâne dégarni et le gris ou blanc sont des effets de photoshop, je suis bien plus jeune que cela….:D, en fait j’ai…bof on s’en fout hein?
Et oui ce sera la prochaine toile que je retravaillerai, en fait elle l’est déjà….Et mon ordi marche maintenant super bien, il est rapide, la musique joue sans les nombreux accrocs auxquels je m’étais habitué…en fait non cela me rendait fou furieux…peut-être que le reste s’arrangera aussi maintenant….:)

Yes I do use photograhs to paint from, using often photoshop to resize the photo, and suit it to my canvas size, but most of the time I draw directly on the canvas, I am using the pic and measurements just to be sure I not too ‘off’ with the positionning of the model. Often I do montage and modify things with the software, like you may think that I’m am quite old, but it is just some manipulations, to replace hair with skin, so I look almost bald, and the beard was added and of course I played a lot with the colors, so it does seem gray and white…In fact I am …..:) well it is not important….
and yes this is the one that I did reworked over the week-end and probably a bit more tonight…pictures in the next few posts…and yes my computer is working fine so far, it is fast, play music like it is supposed to do, I pleased, may be the rest will get fixed too…
